The Position
As a full stack software engineer at Deep Sentinel, you will play an important role in getting mission critical functionality to our users, both internal and external. In this role, you’ll be responsible for building everything from the database to the user interface, and everything in between. You’ll work as a part of a small, high impact team and use agile methodologies to deliver high quality software in a fast paced environment.
General
- Working with and supporting other technical team members
- Working with business teams to develop and maintain business critical applications
- Working with international teams to develop cloud-deployed software systems
Play a key role in user experiences
- Working independently and with a small, focused team to build and enhance the many applications necessary to deploy, support, and administer large scale video delivery systems
- Implement end-user features in both web and mobile applications
- Design, implement, and test web services or microservices, primarily in Python
- Design and implement robust data storage and retrieval mechanisms against a variety of technologies, including Redis and MySQL
- Develop and maintain interfaces with our Machine Learning and Advanced AI systems
Qualifications
- 5+ years experience using React or React Native in commercial, production deployments
- 5+ years of experience using HTML and CSS
- 5+ years of experience coding in JavaScript or TypeScript
- 5+ years of experience coding in Python in commercial, production deployments
- 3+ years of experience creating DDL and DML in an RDBMS system, ideally MySQL
- Familiarity with other languages, such as C# or Java is a plus
- Strong understanding of common UI development patterns, such as MVP, MVC, MVVM, etc
- Strong understanding of software development best practices, such as SOLID principles or DDD
- Strong proficiency in unit and integration testing
- Strong knowledge of web programming specifics and experience in building cloud-native applications
- Strong Linux skills
- Strong debugging and analysis skills
- Experience designing and implementing web services, especially for facilitating interaction among multiple systems
- Experience integrating with third party services
- Experience with message queuing concepts
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Exposure to machine learning is a plus
- Excellent teamwork skills
- Excellent communication skills and fluency in English
- Experience with international / remote / cross-timezone collaboration
